Microsoft accidentally posted the tech specs for Samsung’s new all-in-one VR and mixed reality headset, the Odyssey. The page is gone now, but not before the keen eyes of the internet saw everything.
It’s an impressive spec, too. The Odyssey will be a Windows-based platform (hence its use of the mildly controversial “mixed reality” phrasing) that comes bundled with two tracked controllers and boasts OLED displays. And speaking of tracking, the preemptive reveal made clear that, just like the majority of these Windows headsets that we’re hearing so much about, the tracking will be inside-out, meaning no external satellites required to locate your position (or that of the controllers).
- Resolution: 2880 x 1600
- Display: OLED
- Refresh rate: Up to 90Hz
- Field of view: Up to 110°
- Headphones and dual array mics
The price tag on the Odyssey was $499.00 when the preorder page popped up, although it’s possible that’ll change when the official reveal happens. What do you think? Would you preorder one?
